Kevin Childre's EOD Fund from TDD
Tax deductible
IG family and Texas Doodle Dogs, let's show Tucker and his momma, Margaret, how much we love them and are thinking and praying for them in this difficult time. Although many of us did not get to meet Tucker's dad, Kevin, we know he is a hero.
Please see Maraget's note below. We are raising money to donate to EOD Warrior Foundation in honor of Kevin Childre.
Kevin Childre
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we must tell you that Kevin suffered a horrendous crash on his bicycle and the injuries to his brain were too severe to battle. It was a nothing little accident, the kind that is so common with cyclists. He'd been having a great day on the bike, feeling strong and fit and was with awesome friends. There was no pain.
We ask that you remember the Kevin who adored his dog, remember his smile of delight when he saw you walking up, remember his love of pizza, of Starbucks chai teas. Think of his voice describing an exceptional climb on the bike, swearing in yet another sailor re-enlisting, laughing at anything, everything. His triumphs, accomplishments are too numerous to begin to list. But this was a man who loved his family, his country, his fellow EOD brothers and sisters and so many others.
Most of all, remember the Kevin who made us all better people, and the world a better place to live.
There will be no service immediately; we will plan a Celebration of Life in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider a donation to the EOD Warrior Foundation (http://www.eodwarriorfoundation.org/), a cause that was close to his heart. Thank you all for your love and support.
