Truitt and Judy McKinney experienced a devastating house fire on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at their beloved home of 35 years. Although the house is still standing it is completely uninhabitable. Their 2 dogs are being boarded and a neighbor is caring for their cat. Thankfully everyone is ok! Truitt and Judy are currently staying at a hotel. While the hotel cost is being covered by insurance, the expenses of being displaced to a hotel and eventually moving into temporary housing add up quickly. Their recent emergency expenses have been on food, toiletries, clothing, containers to put any salvagable items in, boarding and feeding the pets, laundromat costs, and other basic necessities. They will eventually need to find a temporary rental house to live in until their home is repaired which will require a certain amount of furnishing. Insurance will pay rent for the temporary housing but will not cover the initial security deposit or any necessary furnishing. Any help during this time of great need would be so greatly appreciated!
