Band Uniform for Alisal High School
Donation protected
My name is Mr. Oh. I am the new band/music director at Alisal High School in Salinas, CA. Here are some facts about our program. In the last 10 years, Salinas Union High School District has been trying to rebuild the music program in all the secondary schools within our district. Now, there are music programs offered at every site.
Alisal High did not have a real music program for the last 20 years. I began teaching at this school this year and I am trying to build the music program from scratch. I am proud to say that I have a great staff and students who are willing to take the band program to the next level. The one thing we are lacking is funds. We do not even have enough money in the band budget to buy chocolate to sell for a fundraiser. We only have $60 left in our club budget, which is not even enough to get us started.
Our band students would like to raise money to buy new band uniforms that they can proudly wear at football games, parades and competitions. The old band uniforms have has been eaten away by moths and are too tattered to wear. During the homecoming parade, the students had to wear school logo T-shirts, instead of uniforms. This embarrassed many of the students.
To help build our band program we would like to raise funds that will help us buy band uniforms that the students can proudly wear. We want to show the people of Salinas that the Alisal High School Trojan band is back and is ready to make a difference.
With all of our hearts we are thankful for any amount that helps us reach our goal. Thank you!
