Many know I can’t write in less than a few paragraphs, I will try.
We Hired a tree guy – 7 big trees

He Had 2 helpers hired from a work program based out of a local work “bank”, they have been working for him about a year.

I gave them both a $20 tip, knowing they get paid squat, and before knowing their story.

Their story:

Turns out she was a runaway at 15 from Texas, and he was a runaway at 16 from Lowell Ma. That is where they met, Not sure how she got to Lowell.

He told her, stick with me and I will take care of you.

They ended up having a baby, 7 years old now, don’t think they ever got married, but live together raising their son on “pickup work”. Guessing they are early twenties.

 So when settling with the tree guy on price, we negotiated $950 cash (green – no check), and I said $1000, as long as you give the extra to the couple.  He was so happy, touched by the gesture.  Made my day, his day.  Next is we plan to donate our old WI to them if we can to them..  We have over 50 games, that we won’t use anymore, we have moved on.  Not sure it will or can work, but that is the plan.

The gift of giving is my best present.

Today's update:
John called the Tree Company to tell them we are planning to adopt the couple.

The hard working couples names are Dave and Jamie. They are living in a hotel. They have been together for 10 years. They have a young son. They are driving a very old car that needs all kinds of work. They are both working odd jobs including working for the tree company. Dave is applying at UPS, third shift, Jamie looking for a day job since the tree work stops over the winter. They have to split the schedule to be around for their son. 

 They have not asked for anything. They have no idea we are doing this for them. If you can help with a donation of any amount, we are sure they will greatly appreciate the help.

 
We've selected this young family as our Adopted Family for Christmas.
