Stroke recovery assistance devices

Donation protected
There are a couple driving factors on this request.  I have a baby boy that will be due in one month and I want my body to get back to some normalness.  21 months ago I had a stroke caused by high blood pressure.  If you think you have high blood pressure please go to the doctor today.  It is not something to mess around with. The stroke caused complete loss of my left side.  While I have gained some control back I still have a long way to go.  I have limited movement in my arm.  While I am going to the gym, I can only lift about 5lbs with that arm.  My son will weigh more than that and I need help so my wife does not have to do everything on her own.  There is a device called the Myopro that can assist.  http://www.bulowops.com/myopr/  After going back and forth with my insurance company, Aetna, they denied my request saying it is exploratory for stroke patients.  I have tried on the device and know this to be false.  It dramatically improves the strength in my left arm.  This will allow me to hold and pickup my newborn son.  It will also allow me to build strength up in my bicep and triceps. This is an expensive device but one that will help me dramatically.

Another request is for the Bioness L300 foot drop.  http://www.bioness.com/Products/L300_for_Foot_Drop.php Aetna also denied this for stroke patients.  I currently have a brace that has allowed me to walk better every day.  The down side is it will not let me fully pronate my ankle when taking steps.  Sit at a chair and put your foot flat on the ground.  Raise your toes in the air while keeping the ball of your foot on the ground.  You feel those muscles moving?  Mine are not strong enough to do that. They are so weak that if I set for a long period of time my blood flow will slow down in my leg.  I need this device that will allow me to walk normal again which will allow the full range of motion in my ankle.  Over time this will build my leg muscles back so I can walk normal and play outside with my kid in a few years.

It is a long road ahead but I believe I can recover to at least 90 percent if not 100.  I am still young enough and determined enough to make this happen.  I just can't afford these devices along with the medical bills for therapy(60 dollars a week) and my newborn son.  Thank you so much for your consideration.  I understand if you can't give but please forward on.  You never know who might be out there.  My family thanks you.
