Hi, my name is Mars and I am a trans woman living in the American south. Rising transphobic sentiment and past instances of harassment and violence during my time here have caused me to fear for my safety if I don’t make it out.

My difficult but necessary decision to relocate was further complicated when I unexpectedly lost my income at the beginning of the year. This unfortunate setback has drained my savings and put me further behind in my relocation efforts.

I am fortunate to have found a vibrant community in the Northeast through my long-distance girlfriend, and we have already begun to organize my relocation. Her local support network is absolutely wonderful, but we need all the help we can get. We are immensely grateful to all of you for your support in helping us to reunite permanently and start a happy, queer life together!

I have calculated conservative estimates regarding the costs of relocation:

- Moving Truck Rental/Fuel ~$800

- First Month's Rent ~$1500

- Additional Moving Expenses/Rental Fees/etc ~$1250

Total: ~$3550

I have been doing my best to make an income where I am able to be set aside for the move, but without assistance I fear I may become further embattled or even trapped here by future Anti-Trans Legislation. My home state is infamous for its crackdown on trans rights and fearing for my safety makes this goal feel further away each day.
