Anna and Emma's Trail Escape 25k for GMAVSG

Hi, we're Anna and Emma and we're taking part in the Manchester Trail Escape 25k on 21st June 2025 to raise awareness and funds for Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group (GMAVSG)

Our work in the asbestos team of Hugh James Manchester enables us to meet wonderful people impacted by the asbestos legacy in the North of England, including people living with asbestos related illnesses, their families, medical professionals and support groups who work tirelessly to help and support.

We both feel strongly about raising awareness of asbestos and the illnesses that it can cause. Despite being banned in 1999, asbestos is still present in our public buildings, hospitals and schools. Sadly, it is not a problem of the past.

There are so many inspiring people working hard to make a difference and help those affected by asbestos. GMAVSG is a charity that offers free and independent advice to people with asbestos-related diseases and their families. They run regular support groups allowing people to meet, share experiences and support each other.

The group also campaigns on local, national and international issues that affect asbestos victims and their families.
