Please Help: Tracee Cameron Needs 3 Surgeries
Donation protected
Hi, my name is John. My wife and I created this GoFundMe to help our friend Tracee who needs to undergo 3 surgeries in one operation. Tracee has helped so many Military Veterans like me get our life back, and we want to do the same for her.
Tracee was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2021 after searching 5 long years for a diagnosis. She underwent surgery that June and was excited to be on the road to recovery. Tracee looked forward to getting off disability and returning to work; it had been almost 6 years since she last worked as a psychotherapist at the VA Mental Health Clinic. Tracee underwent back and abdominal nerve blocks every 2 months to manage pain while enduring weekly physical therapy for 6 months. Sadly, after 9 months of treatment and hard work, Tracee had no improvement in pain and her mobility declined; she now required a caretaker to assist her at home and disability transportation as she could no longer drive without being in excruciating pain. Tracee was devastated because it was apparent the surgery was a fail and she would not have her life back she tirelessly fought for.
Being the fighter she is, Tracee had phone consultations with numerous Endometriosis specialists across the country determined to get answers. After reviewing her medical records and scans, all 4 specialists came to the same conclusion: Tracee needed surgery on 3 different areas. Due to lack of expertise by the previous surgeon, he failed to recognize the presence of bladder disease caused by endometriosis, endometriosis implanted on her rectum, and Adenomyosis; a disease of the uterus that can only be cured by removing it. Fortunately, these surgeries can be performed in one operation that will take 5 hours.
To ensure the operation is performed properly, a speciality team consisting of a Surgical Urologist, a Colorectal Surgeon, and an Endometriosis Gynecologist is required. Tracee will undergo a bladder surgery, bowel surgery, and a total hysterectomy to remove her uterus, both fallopian tubes and cervix. As you can imagine, this is heartbreaking for a single woman who has yet to have children of her own or marry. Nevertheless, Tracee is slowly coming to terms with her reality with the help of a therapist.
Tracee's operation is scheduled for August 19 in Atlanta, Georgia with Endometriosis Gynecologist Dr. Nicholas Kongoasa and his surgical team. However, like the 30 other Endometriosis specialists in the country, Dr. Kongoasa doesn't take health insurance. So we need your assistance in helping Tracee cover the $8,000 surgical fee. Tracee chose him because he is the least expensive of them all. The other 2 surgeons and the hospital fees will be covered by Tracee's health insurance, minus copays.
Money should not be a barrier to Tracee getting the operation she desperately needs. She deserves to live a healthy, happy life and we want to help make that happen!
All funds from this campaign will go directly to Tracee. You can donate through her personal Cashapp... $tracam or by clicking on the "Donate Now" button above. Any amount, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
Please keep Tracee in your prayers. Thank you all,
John (Jay) and Maggie Sloatman
