Original Delta Chapter commemoration project

The Sigma Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will participate in the University of Toronto Landmark Project by purchasing a bench, which will commemorate the original Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Jewels Eugene K. Jones and Vertner W. Tandy spent their Easter vacation of 1908 in Toronto, ON. Upon returning to Ithaca they reported that they had initiated 8 men into the Fraternity and thus created Delta, the fourth chapter.  Sigma Epsilon Lambda will commence fundraising at the 87th Midwestern Regional Convention on Toronto, April 10-14, 2019. The  Sigma Epsilon Lambda Chapter leadership will coordinate with the University of Toronto Landmark Project in order to ensure installation of the bench, and a commemoration event, details of which will be determined by SEL Chapter at a future date. We thank you for your support to this project. We look forward to providing updates on our progress. www.sel1906.com www.1906.ca https://landmark.utoronto.ca
