Please help my cat get gastrointestinal surgery he needs
Donation protected
Update on Toro: We are keeping a close eye on my baby boy, he is doing much better after anti-nausea meds, fluid injection and nonfat food diet. His feces looks normal and he has stopped vomiting. The vet has told us - "if he doesn't throw up now after the meds have worn off we are in the clear, otherwise surgery is indicated" and we have booked our fantastic vet for Monday first thing.
All donations go towards his vet bills.
Thank you so much everyone for your selfless donations and to the people who shared and given me resources.
This community is so wonderful and it’s given me hope thank you so much.
My 1 year old cat Toro had a naughty habit called Pica - chewing our wool socks and sweaters, we were neat freaks for weeks and started to change our lifestyle with closed doors and clothes always packed away. Recently, he took us by surprise as he ate a felt blanket. He projectile vomited twice today, we took him to the vet to get an X-Ray to make sure he didn’t eat anything even worse. We believe it has caused a blockage in his system and the vet has quoted us $8,000 for the surgery. She has told us to get this surgery immediately to make sure there isn’t a foreign object blocking his intestines.. I plan on taking him asap.
I am in a state of complete distraught. I am almost at the point of surrendering my cat to someone who can afford him. Unfortunately I was fired from my job recently, I have applied to 25 different places and haven’t heard from anywhere. The Vancouver job market is so dire and I’m at the point where that $813 checkup, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Fluids and Maropitant was all of my money gone. I have $0 to my name right now. Please help me raise funds for my cat so he can have this gastrointestinal life saving surgery, anything helps. Even a share helps Thank you so much.
