What is "Torch" About?
Set against the stark, symmetrical beauty of the West Texas desert, "Torch" is a psychological supernatural thriller that explores the heavy price of denial.

The story follows Elias, a man fleeing a crumbling personal life and a mounting battle with alcoholism. When his car breaks down on a desolate back road in West Texas, Elias is forced to abandon the safety of his vehicle and trek across the "badlands" in search of a cell signal.

As night falls and the desert temperatures plummet, the silence of the wilderness begins to feed his inner demons. Armed only with a makeshift torch fueled by the very thing destroying him, Elias finds himself stalked by an ominous presence that seems to move like shifting stone. To survive the night, he must navigate a landscape where the shadows are alive, and the only way forward is to face the devastating truth he has been trying to outrun.

The History of "Torch"
"Torch" is a project that has lived in my head for years. Initially, I wanted to create a photo that was lit dramatically and practically by torchlight. I talked with my good friend Ryan about this, and we decided to go out and shoot it.
I loved how the photo came out and knew I wanted to develop a story around this image.
For a long time, I didn't feel I had the tools to do this story justice. I needed to grow as an artist and a person before I could step behind the camera for this specific journey, and I am happy to say that I am finally ready to share it with all of you.

About Me: From the Studio to "Torch"

For over a decade, my life has been defined by the frame. As a commercial and advertising photographer based in Houston, I’ve spent my career since 2012 perfecting the technical craft of visual storytelling for brands. It’s a journey I’ve loved, but there has always been a deeper, more personal spark waiting for the right moment to ignite.

The Evolution of a Creator
I’ve always been driven to create, but I’m a firm believer that some stories require a certain level of maturity and technical confidence to tell correctly. For years, I didn’t feel my skills as a filmmaker matched the weight of the themes I wanted to explore. I waited, I practiced, and I refined my eye.

Now, I am finally ready. My new short film, "Torch", is the result of that patience. It’s a story born from those quiet, expansive landscapes of the West Texas desert and the internal struggles we often keep hidden. It’s raw, it’s human, and it’s the most authentic work I’ve ever stepped behind a camera to produce.

Why Your Support Matters
Filmmaking is the ultimate collaborative art, and my goal is to produce "Torch" with the same professional integrity I bring to my commercial studio. This fundraiser is about more than just "making a movie", it’s about valuing the people who make it possible. Your contributions will go directly toward:

  • Fairly compensating our talented cast and crew: They are the heart of this production.
  • Production Costs: Securing the authentic locations and props/supplies needed to capture the cinematic scale of the story.
  • Post-Production: Ensuring the final film meets the high visual standards I’ve set for my work over the last 14 years.

Join the Journey
I know that support comes in many forms, and I value every bit of it. If you aren't in a position to donate, you can still be a vital part of the "Torch" team:

  • Share: Post this link and spread the word to fellow film lovers.
  • Engage: Follow along for behind-the-scenes updates from the set.
  • Watch: Most importantly, watch the film when it is released.

Every conversation and every share brings this vision one step closer to the screen. Thank you for being part of this new chapter in my creative journey.
