This gives us an opportunity. Boris Johnson can only stay Prime Minister if he’s re-elected as MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip in West London.
We have a way out of this nightmare if the people of Uxbridge and South Ruislip vote for me. I’m Ali Milani, the working-class, local Labour candidate who’ll be standing against Boris Johnson at the next general election.
People like me aren’t meant to become MPs. My family travelled to the UK when I was just five years old. I grew up on a council estate, with a single parent who spoke little English, struggling to make ends meet. I don’t have the billionaire backers Boris does. But we have something much more powerful: each other.
