On Saturday, May 20, 2023, I will be participating in the Ironman 70.3 North America Championship in Morro Bay, CA. This is a very humbling event where one gets to compete with the greatest athletes on the planet in a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride, and 13.1 mile run. The best athlete finishes in 4 hours. I hope to cross the finish line in 5 hours. I am turning this race into a fundraiser for a very important cause - the scholarship in memory of my mother, Janet Pessagno.

My mom died from breast cancer at the age of 61. My family established the scholarship in 2004 to honor my mother's dedication to the field of philanthropy and her renowned generosity. My mom dedicated her life to public service through many charitable organizations for whom she volunteered to fundraise critical resources in the non-profit sector. The Janet Pessagno scholarship at Moreau Catholic High School helps students with financial need achieve a quality education.
