Tony Chaney Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Representing friends of Tony and Angie Chaney, we have made this funding page available to provide an additional, tangible way for all of Tony and Angie's family, friends and ministry partners to show our support and love for the Chaney family and help raise funds to assist in the paying of excess medical costs caused by high insurance deductibles and out of pocket costs, travel and additional associated expenses incurred during Tony's ongoing cancer treatment.
On August 10, 2015, Tony was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer, Non-Hodgkins Diffuse B cell Lymphoma. Thankfully, and in giving all glory to God, it was determined that the cancer, although very large and aggressive, is confined to the initial tumor sight in Tony's chest. After consultation with MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, the leading lymphoma treatment facility in the US, a treatment plan was put in place that will initially be comprised of 6, 21 day Chemotherapy treatment cycles to be administered locally at Fort Wayne Oncology and Lutheran Hospital Cancer Center.
After day 1 of the treatment, as an outpatient in the office (August 17), the intensity of these treatments require that Tony remain in the Hospital for 96 straight hours of treatment on day 2 - 5 of each of the 6 treatment cycles. This will not only increase the intensity of the treatment, but will also add to the demands on the family and the cost of the treatment. Additionally, early in the treatment phases, an appointment for treatment review, assessment and adjustment will be held at MD Anderson in Houston. The funds raised here will help defray these treatment and ongoing diagnostic testing costs, travel expenses to Houston, repeated travel to Fort Wayne (not only for Angie, but also for Haley (24), Eden (22), Laken (19) and Brason (11), which may include more frequent trips home from college to help support dad), and increased purchased meals.
Tony has dedicated a majority of his adult life to making a difference in youth and adult lives. Through ministry to them, whether it was during his time as a Youth Pastor or Senior teaching Pastor or his time as a High School program director with YFC and more recently his role as the Executive Director at Youth for Christ (YFC) of Adams, Blackford, Grant, Jay and Wells counties, he shows the love of Jesus daily. This love for others and of his ministry and obedience to God may have caused Angie and the kids to have to sacrifice at times; having to share Tony with a very large extended family of friends and ministry partners, times when there may have been late night meetings or week end activities that required him to be gone, or just times when one of us was in our own time of need and he was there, ministering to us. Tony is always there and steadfast to help support you during a time of need or celebrate and praise God with you during the good times. Tony and the Chaney family continue to show us what faith looks like and just what can be accomplished through Christ if He is made the center of your marriage, your family and your life and you just minister to and love everyone around you like Jesus would. That is the Chaney family legacy that so many of us have been privileged to witness first hand.
Haley recently posted a picture of her dad recovering in a comfortable chair with an open bible in his lap following a week of tests, biopsy surgery and surgery to place a port in his chest for treatment with the hash tag #heloveshisjesus. What an outstanding example he continues to be to his family and all those who come to know him. What an outstanding opportunity for us to come around Tony, Angie, Haley, Eden, Laken and Brason as that extended family to give back to them, love them and support them through this.
Tony and Angie humbly ask for none of this. They covet only your prayers and ask that you stand with them in faith and trust that God is in control, is the Great Physician, and will deliver healing to Tony. God has a perfect plan and purpose that will be realized through this situation, and above all, God will continue to be glorified. They also trust that He will provide for all their needs.
As their friends, we also ask that you join them and us in prayer for the Chaney family. Additionally, if you feel led to help provide for their treatment related expenses and stand with them during this time of need, showing the love of Jesus and representing Jesus with skin on to them, we invite you to join us in making a monetary contribution. Any amount that you are able to contribute will make a difference and be appreciated. If you feel more comfortable making a contribution locally, an account has also been established at Ossian State Bank (Ossian and Bluffton) for this purpose. Thank you. Ossian State Bank accounts will be available after Monday, August 24, 2015.
Also, please feel free to share a note of love and encouragement with Tony and Angie in the comment section.
