In July I went to the VA for an annual physical. My PSA's where higher than normal. So after a prostate exam, then a biopsy. Which was painful & scary in itself. I was told that I have prostate cancer.
The surgeon sent me home for a week to get over the initial shock to consult for a remedy. That weekend is when it hit me and thank God Anita & I were away together at a cabin up north! Where we processed and wept!
I will have surgery in November to have my prostate removed. The pre op consult let me know that my & Anita's life are going to change. Some real sobering facts about necessary things that keep a relationship intimate and close. So adjustments will be made for the rest of our lives. This reality scares the hell out of me!
The procedure will put me out of work for about 4 to 6 weeks! Being a sole proprieter. No paycheck while I'm not working. An immediate concern to not have a financial hardship as I recover from surgery became a priority.
Having worked since I was 14 and being a man of pride. I swallow hard to set up an account here. Though I know I've tried working nights and weekends to make it a go and it's to no avail. I can not skip that kind of time not working. So I set up this account. I would be grateful for your contributions and compassion!
