Hi!

so, as a self confessed crazy cat lady, I already have 5 cats of my own. After losing one of my younger cats, Toby, the neighbourhood stray started visiting. I’ve seen him around over the years but he’s never been in my garden. Two days after I lost Reggie, he was crying in my garden for attention!

i’ve been feeding him regularly and he likes to sit and shelter by my car when it rains, but his health looked poor so i decided to get him seen to.

Toby is elderly and as far as I’m aware, has been living on the streets for years. He’s been fed by lots of neighbours, but hasn’t been to the vets.

I took him this morning and had him vaccinated, flead and wormed and he is currently residing in my nail hut, with a lovely comfy bed, lots of love and food.

when the vet checked him over, he said that he has quite severe periodontal disease. It looks like he’s going to need lots of teeth removing, and the estimated cost is around £1200. At the moment, I can see he’s struggling to eat and his cheeks and mouth are incredibly swollen. I’ve been more than happy to pay for everything else, but this is a massive cost that likely insurance won’t cover because it’s a preexisting condition.

after all these years on the street, I want to be able to offer him the best life he can have as he lives out his last few years. So any donation is gratefully received.

EDIT: a second opinion as advised by Jo at The Cat Fund St Dennis from Cornwall animal hospital, have notified me that his dental treatment through them will now only cost a maximum of £680! I’ve adjusted the GoFundMe to mirror this. We’re over halfway, thankyou for all of your support!
