Help Musician & Teacher Tobi Stone

Musician and Teacher Tobi Stone is injured and cannot work.
For the last month Tobi has been getting progressively more ill. Unfortunately, Tobi has not been able to work with this injury and we do not know when she will be able to return to work; so she is concerned about how she will pay her bills in the meantime. It has already been a month of losing work. The doctor has said she should reduce stress because she really needs to relax and focus on healing, so that brings us to this GoFundMe campaign.
Tobi Stone is a talented, hard-working, local musician who, like so many of us, normally lives on less than she did before the recession. (Somehow this is expected of musicians and artists, though no one seems to know why). But Tobi manages to get by...until now. As everyone seems to know, musicians are at the bottom of the pay scale and often cannot afford to miss work because, generally, this is not salaried employment w/ paid sick leave.
The doctors think they know what may be at the heart of it, but are waiting for test results to confirm that diagnosis. If the diagnosis is correct and there are no complications, then Tobi’s condition is treatable. She will need surgery and time to recover. This is good news and we are grateful; however, Tobi still has to pay her bills and cannot work.

Everyone needs a rest now and then, especially when its doctor’s orders. This is not one of those times when she can just suck it up, there is literally a hole in her chest cavity…it makes sucking it up very difficult. Moreover, a hole in the chest is not a good choice for a woodwinds player. So, if you have always wanted to take credit for helping out a starving artist or just plain wanted to play the hero, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE.
People say, “you have to suffer for art” and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Well, I say, “NOT THIS TIME!” So, let’s put our collective foot down and end the suffering of this artist, if only for this one battle.
