Tj's Street Cat Project

Tj's street cat project is a self funded and donation supported project to help alleviate the suffering and reduce the numbers of suffering cats in the streets of Doha.

I look after 3 colonies, 1 large and 2 smaller, including offering financial or logistical assistance to any cat found in need.

We work hard to feed each cat daily, maintain a clean water source, treat illness, capture and neuter, and vaccinate (and rehome - where absolutely necessary). After much hard work and care and thanks to donations so far we've neutered over 30 cats, treated many from flu, corona, Calici, ear mites, blindness, ring worm, trauma and given over 80 vaccinations. All to enable the cats to live their best possible life. This has massively reduced the cat population in the area as you can imagine we now have a group of healthy adult cats.

Homes here are hard to come by. Many of the cats are with me from kitten, some very tame, some timid, frightened, some are more able than others in sustaining themselves in the streets. At the project we aim to enable the 'free living cats'. These are domestic animals that have been abandoned by local and expatriate owners and are continuing to breed. There are always new faces moving in from other areas in search for food and so the hard work and medical treatment needs continue.

We we don't expect to rehome every cat, we simply concentrate on supporting the cats in having a happy and healthy life as 'free living cats'. Some of our cats are tamer than others but we try to make sure they're as self sufficient as they can be ..... in a desert.......

I'm in need of your help to increase the amount of animals I can treat and neuter so that these cats will not have kittens and so the suffering continues.

Please help me, help those that may be suffering and prevent further suffering in the future.

Your money will go directly to treat the animals and I will be transparently updating on my Facebook page: Tj's Street Cat Project      so you can see the difference you are making.

Immediate goal- TNR! Orrrrr TTNVR ..... Trap, treat, neuter, vaccinate and return.

In extreme cases or extraordinary circumstances - Microchip, rehabilitate, rehome and fund pet passports to secure new homes where necessary - those that are vulnerable such as the wonderful Stevie who secured a loving home in the UK as she was found blind & the gorgeous Lola, a tame house kitten that was dumped in a park and was too tame to fend for herself in the street. Calypso also found his wings and found a home in the USA! Freya moved in with a lovely rescuer and Mowgli another park dumpee is being spoiled rotten. Oh and Mickey? Well he moved in with us!

Whatever you can donate will be gratefully received. It may be a drop in the ocean but for these little babies it's the difference between life and death.

Thank you so much for your support.25035622_1539420784815538_r.jpeg
