What is the film about?
"Tíu Dropar" is an Icelandic short film exploring Lára, a 28-year-old single mother and aspiring filmmaker’s unsettling discovery while on a film set. An incident with the coffee sparks anxiety and suspicion in Lára as there may have been an accidental poisoning. Throughout the night, consumed by guilt and fear, she contemplates the choices before her, all of them seem to have life-altering consequences.
A strained conversation with her mother reveals a troubled and abusive past. As tensions rise, Lára's mental state deteriorates further and further until there is not much left of her. Yet, the moments she hears the cries of her son it brings clarity and responsibility. The film concludes with an eerie discovery and an uncertain future, leaving the weight of her actions unresolved.
