Our beautiful husky Tina was attacked by a rattle snake while hiking Potato Mountain at the Mt Baldy mountains. We were coming down through a narrow trail and the snake was just next to said trail so we did not see it because it had not rattled and warned us of its presence yet and Tina being a dog, loves to be in front when we hike so she was the one who was bit in the face (just below her eye), it all happened so fast. Her right eye immediately started to swell up, we rushed down the mountain as fast as we could and took her to the nearest open hospital (today was Sunday so her usual vet is closed).
