Our dear friend needs our help.
Whether you know Tim Evanicki as a friend, mentor, teacher, coach, or colleague, you know that he is special. For the past few years most of Tim’s time is spent working with his students at The College Audition, or in vocal coaching. Starting a new business is challenging, but he met the challenge through hard work and much sacrifice. He’s simply not used to having time off.
But, somehow he managed to fall in love with Ricky, who is also a kind and wonderful creature in his own right. After they got approval from Tim’s best fur buddy, Lark, the two recently decided that Tim would work full time and Ricky would quit his job to pursue his degree in nursing. Tim was more than willing to support hem both to allow Ricky to fulfill his dream of being a nurse. Sometimes timing in life can be downright cruel. A few weeks later, Tim pulled himself away from The College Audition for a few days and they flew to Washington state, which Tim thought was to celebrate the start of Ricky’s future as a nurse. Little did Tim know, Ricky planned to celebrate the start of their future together as a married couple. Ricky proposed. Tim was absolutely shocked, but so very happy. Sadly he did not get to enjoy the moment for very long.
The next day, while on a whale watching tour, Tim got a call from his doctor that during a routine procedure, they found cancer in his esophagus. Upon returning home, further testing revealed it had spread through more layers of the esophagus than the doctors originally thought. His prognosis is good, and he is an otherwise healthy 38 year old. Unfortunately, Tim has to undergo extensive surgery to remove a large section of his esophagus. The extent of any chemotherapy and/or radiation will be determined later, depending on further test results. Having surgery means Tim will not be able to work for quite a long time. While he has amazing doctors that will give him the very best care, the doctors work for hospitals that have an amazing billing department, so he can also expect some staggeringly outrageous medical bills.
If you are reading this, most likely Tim has had an impact on your life. Most of us don’t know what he would do without him. He cares for us, he cares for our children. He’s our Tim and we love him dearly. We know he’s scared, even if he doesn’t admit it. Well, we can’t make the cancer go away. But, we can flood him with support and help him to make sure that for the near future he only has to focus on his healing and not his rent, food, medical bills, medications, etc.
If you would like to help Tim, please continue to send him cards, letters and well wishes. Also please donate and share with others who may be able to help. This wonderful man has been a blessing to so many of us, it’s our chance to show him how much we love and appreciate him.
We can do this together!
