Tibi’s Legacy

This month we lost Tibi — one of the kindest, funniest, and most caring people you could ever meet. We are crushed, heartbroken and can’t believe this is real.

Tibi took his health very seriously and after multiple visits to his GP and A&E where he raised his concerns, he was given a CT scan. After a subsequent biopsy and stressful month-long wait, Tibi was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma in July. This form of sarcoma is unpredictable, cruel, and especially uncommon in adults. With limited evidence to guide treatment, we could only hold onto hope.

Through it all, Tibi stayed positive, always putting the feelings of his friends and family before his own. He had so much to live for, and if sheer determination could have carried him through, he would still be here with us today. Sadly, despite every effort, Tibi passed away peacefully in Katherine’s arms.

Katherine, his wife, never left his side. Whether at home in Middlesbrough or during long stays at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, she was always there — sleeping on a camp bed next to him, while pregnant with their first child. Her strength and love were unwavering throughout this heartbreaking summer.

We have created this page to support her and their precious unborn baby. Our hope is to give her the space to grieve and the freedom to focus on becoming a first-time mother, without the added weight of financial worry.
