We’re throwing teachers (and parents) out of a plane.

Relax — it’s for a very good cause!

A group of very brave teachers, along with some slightly terrified parents, have signed up for a fully supervised sponsored skydive in aid of The Rock NS.

At 11am on June 6th, they’ll be taking the leap (quite literally) to raise funds for the school.

Before anyone asks:

Yes, it’s professionally organised.

Yes, it’s fully supervised.

And yes, parachutes will be firmly attached at all times!

Why we’re doing this:

To raise vital funds for The Rock NS.

To create a bit of excitement in the school (and beyond).

Because, in fairness, this is slightly more memorable than a bake sale!

How the funds will be used:

The money we raise will be used in lots of ways across the school. Specifically, it will go towards purchasing:

• New equipment for the main school playground to create a more active and engaging space for all children

• Sports equipment, including goalposts, nets and PE resources, to support participation and physical wellbeing

• An interactive whiteboard for the new ASD classroom, supporting inclusive and accessible learning

• Upgraded internet boosters to improve connectivity across the school - this will support a range of essential school activities and day-to-day needs of pupils

• A small extension to the teachers’ car park. Following the recent expansion of our teaching staff, more staff cars are now on site without additional parking space, leading to roadside parking. This extension will free up roadside spaces for parents and guardians and make drop-off and collection times safer and more convenient.

And if we’re lucky enough to exceed our target, there’s plenty more we’d love to do to continue improving the school environment for all pupils!
