On December 11, 2014, during this last big storm in San Francisco, a tree growing behind my childhood home, fell and crashed through the roof. My dad, being the man he was, cleared all the pieces off the roof on his own. This was too much for him to handle and he passed away that night from what we assume to be a heart attack.
My father, Thomas Crespo, was a hardworker and man of many hats. He mostly worked as a carpenter and just this month officially retired. He was a smart and loving man who was always willing to help anyone, and had an answer or solution to any problem. He was a beloved husband to our mother, Mary, and cherished father to his two sons, Brian and Robert. This part of his life was supposed to be his vacation that he was never able to have.
We have never felt so much pain and confusion. My parents, in trying to keep up with the fall of the economy, had temporarily canceled their life insurance. We had no warning and now in the midst of it all, my mother is left with the funeral costs, debt left behind in my fathers passing, and maintainenance on the house, which until now was always taken care of by my father. We are hoping to raise $30,000 to cover all these unexpected expenses.
Thank you for your kindness,
Brian and Robert Crespo
