Racing in Europe

Hi Everyone,
In late August, two of my teammates and myself are heading back to the Ardeche region of France to participate in a 6 day stage race. While North America has tough racing, Europe still holds the world’s toughest racing and forces you to develop the skill, strength, and stamina necessary to compete on the world class stage. Our team was super supportive and did a huge block of racing this year in the spring in Europe and is focused on winning a medal in the World Championship in Qatar in October. Despite these wonderful opportunities that have been presented to us, we do not want to miss additional events that will help develop the skills to become competitive in the major world tour races in the coming years and have decided to make a trip to Europe on our own.
I have decided to use a gofundme page to help offset the expenses.
The primary cost is a flight to France- roughly $1,400. If you or if you know someone who travels a lot and has spare miles that you would consider donating, this would be unbelievably helpful in offsetting costs.
Other costs include:
- $600 for bike shipping fees
- $700 my portion of team expenses (Mechanic, rental van, housing, food)
I know some of you are opposed to gofundme. If you would rather send a check directly, let me know. And of course, I will send you updates of the race experience in Europe so you can follow along as little or as much as you like!
Finally, and most importantly, whether or not you wish to donate, PLEASE continue to follow along and share in my journey. Having your support and encouragement makes all the difference. It has been an amazing season thus far, and some of the most special moments have been when you have lined the streets cheering while I ride by or simply coming home to a community that loves and supports me. So, truly, THANK YOU for you have played an integral role in this season’s successes!
