Dear Yukon Family,
As you may have heard, a terrible collision happened in Rabbits Foot Canyon, on Nov 21st, 2020. I am writing you today, grateful that our friend is here, and that both drivers survived. Frankly, we’ve been told it’s a miracle... The paramedics who brought Jordan, to the hospital said he was lucky to be alive.
When first upon the scene, the other driver was found, they had suffered lower body injuries but expressed that they were okay.
Next they went to find the driver of the other vehicle (Jord). It was assumed he would be located somewhere in the ditch of the highway; his vehicle was completely ripped in half, and at first glance - it appeared that no one was inside.
While approaching the one half of the vehicle, Jordan was found inside, and still alive. Luckily paramedics were not far behind and appeared on scene to transport Jordan and other driver to the hospital.
Jordan was airlifted to Prince George to see an orthopaedic surgeon - a good ten hours of surgery to his legs and liver, and he’s now in recovery. Time will tell if he will be moved back to WGH, or to Vancouver for further follow-up.
Jordan unfortunately broke both femurs, his tibia (lower leg) on one leg, and his pelvis. His liver and diaphragm were damaged, and his organs got pushed up - apparently one kidney was squished against the lung. One of his eyes was also injured.
The positive: Jordon has told his mom he could move his toes, and it doesn’t look like any spine or brain damage. He is a very, very lucky man.
This all being said, Jordan will be in recovery for quite sometime, and we are looking for all types of ways to support him. Jordan lives on his own, so he will need help with covering his rent while he’s away, and covering any accruing costs that might accumulate while he is unable to work and recovering. Honestly, anything you can offer, makes a difference for him. He needs our help!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and love through these wild times ... xoxox
What is 2020 even? Right?
May you all find some sort of peace through these difficult times. Sending love and light to you all.
