Raise Money For Theo's Foundation

Our son, Theo, was tragically stillborn at 36 weeks. This heart-breaking

event was not due to natural causes but a result of negligence by a midwife who failed to provide the necessary care and attention our son needed during his most critical hours. Despite our desperate pleas for help, she refused to treat him because she hadn't had a break and didn't want to burden the hospital. She had over 24 hours to save his life but chose not to act. Worse still, this gross misconduct wasn't even recorded in my medical records.

She advised me to stay at home even though I told her we'd been regularly monitored and had a picture of the fluid we had lost, she told us not to be silly to stay at home and monitor for 24 hours and put a pad on. She told me if I was to come to the hospital they would refuse to see me and turn me away... The local Hospital didn't record their calls and she didn't write anything on the medical records.

The hospital have said that although there would have been time to save our son (over 24 hours) and that they would have delivered him by an emergency C-section and he would be here alive today!

Ever since Theo the lack of care was astonishing! No support unless we kept on for it, dates, times, records wrong and muddled over simple things. The subsequent investigation into her actions revealed multiple failures on her part - all of which have been admitted by the hospital authorities themselves. Yet shockingly, no disciplinary action has been taken against her by the hospital administration.

This is not just about us or baby Theo; it's about every parent who entrusts their child's life in the hands of healthcare professionals. It's about ensuring that such tragedies are not allowed to happen and to ensure that when they do that the right support is given to families during their darkest of times.

We implore you all - as parents, as families, as individuals who believe in justice and believe that all lives are so very precious to help make a stampede of change. Let us ensure that baby Theo’s tragic passing serves as a catalyst for change within our healthcare system – where patient safety is prioritized over staff convenience and where accountability isn’t just an empty promise but an enforced practice.

Please donate what you can today, all funds will be used for Theo's Foundation. We want to raise funds to provide better bereavement training, better standard practice in healthcare, providing the support that is so vitally needed.

When Theo was delivered we were placed in a Bereavement suite at the hospital and he had the use of an Abi Cooling Cot on behalf of Abigail's Footsteps - we would like to also use funds to enable hospitals all over the country to have use of these very much needed facilities. Without these we would not have had the precious moments we had with our Son, we would have held him only for a short while and that would have been it. The Abi cooling cot gave us the opportunity to spend a couple of days with our little boy and hold him for just a short while. These facilities are not Government funded and with your help we can raise funds to help with this.

We didn't have any local support groups to us, most being over an hour away. With your help we would like to create local support groups for Bereaved families as another way of supporting people who have been affected by baby and infant loss.
