Will Work For Change (The Tour)

WE DID IT! Between this and private giving, we were successful.

THANK YOU, everyone who shared and supported this cause.

No job is too small, no dream is too big.

What Is This?
To put it in a phrase:

I'm taking my poetry to Europe!

Specifically, the Salerno World Conference, in Salerno, Italy - put on by 100,000 Poets for Change to push for peace in America.

There, there will be workshops, opportunities to perform, and introduce my work to an audience that would never get to see my work out-and-abroad in Europe.

The problem: funding.

The solution: hard work.

Like I say down below, this isn't a "give me money" scheme. What I'm looking for, simply put, is work. As an artist, as an employee, as a mover, doing home care - I've done it all, and more.

If you have access to work, I can be paid via this website (or, I will deposit the money given into this account).

As I say on my website (linked here , and above), I don't just want the money. I want the story of being able to work hard to make a dream come true.

Who Am I?

I'm a Sacramento-local poet, Featured across this fair city, with an opportunity to go overseas with a crew of Sacramento's finest to tour the European country - spreading this first-generation Cuban-American's story and good-word across the world.

I've taught high school students (the most at one time: 500+ in a series of workshops at California State University, Sacramento), I've taught adults, I've Featured across this fair city, and it's time to make this dream come true.

I have hosted shows (the biggest of which was the Love Jones Experience Part II at Laugh's Unlimited), performed improv for the past three years with ComedySportz Sacramento, and have been a member of the National Poetry Slam-registered group !X Ethnic Theatre Workshop.

What I Need, by May 25th
A US Passport (this is the first priority)
Entry fee into the Salerno World Conference
An airline ticket to Italy
An airline ticket back from Italy
Room and board in Italy
Food costs
Money for taxis, trains and local transit

This Is Not A Handout
The last thing I want to be is yet-another guy who's using the Internet to beg for money. I am not that person.

What I want is simple:

I want to work for it. I want to earn it. I want the story.

If you know anyone who needs work done, I am available to work. Please share this with them. If you need work done, I am available. If you know any ins for work being done, I am eager and looking.

It's an interesting choice of websites, then, to use "GoFundMe" as a payment method - as, typically, it's used for people with their proverbial hands-out, hoping someone will fund them for free.

The logic behind this is: I certainly wanted to leave the option open for people to choose to donate to the cause, without requesting work from me - hence using this service - but I also wanted to be able to track my goal as I work for this tour.

I will be depositing the money I earn, here, until I reach the goal.

So enjoy, please feel free to contribute (be it in the form of a donation or in the form of work).

And please Share this with others, using the buttons above or below. I need your help to make this dream come true.

And I am dying to make this dream come true.

I am very accessible.

And/or if you donated, I'd appreciate it!
