For The 3rd Annual Short Film Awards inNew York City, we are expanding from one day to three days to create an even more meaningful and empowering experience for emerging, as well as established, short filmmakers from around the globe.
In the three short years that The Short Film Awards has been in full operation, we have received hundreds and hundreds of short film submissions from 60 countries.
As you can imagine, the stories shared span the human experience...enlightening, exposing, sharing with, uplifiting and transforming viewers. Thus, we ask for your help to properly honor and celebrate these very important films and filmmakers at The 3rd Annual Short Film Awards from December 9th to the 11th. Please consider donating any amount during our gofundme fundraising campaign. Remember, your donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, as The Short Film Awards is an officially recognized 501(c)3.
Some of the costs that your donation will cover are:
* New York venue rental for three days
* Event crew, like the projectionist, camera crew for the live stream and house manager
* Manufacturing the SOFIE Award statuettes. Remember, this is done by the same company that manufactures THE most prestigious and important entertainment awards...with the same materials and quality.
* Catering for the post-awards reception for the amazingly talented and deserving filmmakers, also known as the Giants of Short Film

The Short Film Awards, affectionately nicknamed The SOFIES, was born out of a love for the special art form known as the Short Film. Due to its brief nature, the Short Film genre fosters an unmatched spirit of creativity, resourcefulness and independence that inspires, stirs and transforms.
Each year, The Short Film Awards chooses 5 SOFIE Award Nominees in 19 short film related categories. At our annual awards event, held in New York City. the SOFIE Award Winners are announced. Each Winner receives the beautiful and coveted SOFIE Award. This very special statuette was designed and is manufactured by the same company that creates the most prestigiuos and important Entertainment awards.
The 3rd Annual Short Film Awards event has been expanded to a three-day short film celebration! This year, everyone will have the opportunity to enjoy screenings of each of the amazing SOFIE Award nominated short films, in the two days before the awards ceremony.
All events will be hosted at the Symphony Space on Broadway in New York City, from December 9th to December 11th.

Ø To spotlight and honor the talent and hard work of the best producers, directors, writers, actors, sound engineers, cinematographers, stylists and other creators of short films
Ø To give voice to and provide a platform for emerging filmmakers from around the globe, hindered by location, rule or crisis
Ø To provide education and resources to encourage the making of short films that will positively impact the global society
Ø To generate revenue for Short Filmmakers to recoup production costs and aid in the production of future short films
