The Overcomer-Inclusive Sports Equipment

The Overcomer at the Disability, Dream and Do Camp

The Overcomer Adapted Sport and Fitness Equipment

Our Story:

My name is Joe Kabes, the creator of The Overcomer, a patent pending, revolutionary piece of adapted fitness equipment which allows individuals with special needs the ability to engage and interact in fitness and health-related activities like never before.

As a physical educator and fitness enthusiast, it is my passion to develop the love of health and wellness in all of my students. I teach in an inclusive setting with students who are typically developing and those who have special needs. The Overcomer was developed to ensure that my students with Cerebral Palsy and ambulatory needs felt successful, engaged, and empowered.

I quickly realized that there isn’t a wide range of equipment options for individuals with special needs, especially those in walkers, standers, wheel chairs and gait trainers. I decided to take matters into my own hands and began developing playful and functional adapted equipment that would create a sense of inclusion and self- worth, as well as increase their fitness levels.

The Overcomer is a versatile physical activity system that is able to operate with a multitude of different manual and power wheelchairs, walkers, standers, and gait trainers. The interchangeable sport and gaming attachments make it possible for users to participate in a number of fitness and health-related activities and transition from one to the next quickly and easily.

The Overcomer is adjustable to meet each individual's size and method of ambulation. The Overcomer can be used in a variety of settings including home, school districts, hospitals, physical therapy/rehabilitation facilities, and recreation facilities to name a few.

We Need Your Help:
In order to make this product a reality for individuals with special needs around the world, we need your help in funding this mission. When manufacturing a product, there are many expenses involved; including patenting, fabrication of molds, manufacturing, packaging, marketing and distribution. We have had interest from organizations like Special Olympics and Little League International. I am currently in the process of getting my products ready for volume production, but need the funds to get through this next vital phase!

Please help us empower and improve the lives of individuals with special needs around the world!
