Affordable Christmas 2015
Donation protected
Welcome to The Mission Thrift Store's gofund me page. If you have gotten this far you are obviously interested in helping a family this Christmas and are curious how The Mission Thrift Store is making that happen in Cahokia IL this Dec 20th.
For the 6th year in a row we have invited 75-125 low income families to come to our thrift store and shop for new toys for Christmas. They have the opportunity to buy toys for there kids at extreme discounts. Each family is allowed to purchase 2-3 toys per child. Many of these families would normal have to decide to either buy presents or pay there utility bill. Affordable Christmas provides every family with dignity of shopping and spending there OWN money to provide Christmas for their children.
This year we are hosting Affordable Christmas in Cahokia IL. In 2014 we decided to open a thrift store in city of Cahokia IL. It didnt make much financial sense but made alot of benevolence sense to serve a under resourced city with the opportunity to save money on clothes, housewares and furniture everyday with a thrift store. It has been a blessing to watch God make it all happen.
Heres where we need your help. Normally The Mission budgets around $2000 for gifts and supplies but with added expenses with the new store we are not able to underwrite any of this event. It will be 100% funded by our friends and donors.
