Grammy-award winner, Brandie Lane, The Metropolitan Four is embarking on their
first-ever recording project.
The Metropolitan Four is a NYC-based flute quartet. The ensemble's mission is to explore existing music for flute quartet and to expand upon the repertoire by commissioning new works.
Their members are unified by similar educational experiences, having attended the same music conservatory for studies in flute; under the guidance of Dr. Tadeu Coelho. Later, in successive years, all four won the prestigious Kenan Fellowship at Lincoln Center Education.
The M4 has performed at the National Flute Association Convention in New Orelans, the Rubinstein Atrium at Lincoln Center in NYC and the Central Valley Concert Series, among other prestigious venues.
This debut CD will feature exciting works for flute quartet, including a new composition, commissioned by the M4 especially for this recording.
