On Sunday May 1st, 2016 Brendan Griffin (32), Father of 3 young boys, Gavin, Owen and Ian and husband to Rose Griffin suffered an aneurism in his brain. Brendan is currently in the ICU at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. There is no prognosis at this time and no way of knowing what lies ahead for Brendan, Rose and their young family.
Gavin (4) his oldest son was born with a heart defect known as Pulmonary Valve Atresia, a congenital malformation of the pulmonary valve in which the valve fails to develop and is completely closed, thereby obstructing the blood flow from the heart to the lungs. Gavin needed immediate heart surgery after his birth to open this valve but the struggles are not over as he will soon need follow-up surgery and possibly more over the course of his life. Brendan and Rose are so thankful for the support and care provided to Gavin at Tufts Medical and they are dedicated to giving back to those that saved Gavin’s life and who continue to provide the medical care he needs. Every year Brendan and Rose sponsor a team for the Country Heals walk for Tufts Medical and the Floating Hospital for Children.
Brendan lost his mother just 8 short months ago in September of 2015. Her passing was sudden and emotionally difficult for Brendan and his family.
Despite the struggles Brendan and his family have experienced over the past few years he has remained the funniest, kindest and most caring person to those he knows and meets. His dedication to his family is unwavering. His thoughtfulness and quick wit make him such a pleasure to know.
Support from you will assist this young family with child care and household expenses and will allow Rose to continue working to support her family while Brendan is hospitalized.
Help us help Brendan, Rose, Gavin, Owen and Ian. No matter how small or large, your contribution will help keep this family going.
With Love and Prayers!!
