Hello!
My name is Kari Marin and I graduated in 2019 from Cal State LA with my BA in Mass Communication. During my time in college, I took some research classes and realized I enjoy learning more about people. After graduating and waiting for a job, I started doing little personal projects on the side to help cultivate my skills. Oddly enough, my projects gained some traction on social media in the industry I am currently in, which is Audio/Visual. Fast Forward some time, I got a full time job in the industry, and stopped doing research. Recently, however, I started having some hearing problems and life events happen, and I had to cut my hours at work. In the waiting and transitioning, I strongly know that God has led me and is telling me to do research again, and now I'm starting a research project named The Forever Findings. This time, I know this will be bigger than me and will be mighty work for God's kingdom.
The Forever Findings was created to get people thinking and reflecting on life topics by means of surveys to start deeper and hearty conversations about things that really matter. Knowing that our lives are but a vapor, I’m hoping with this project it can redeem some time to get people thinking on the things above and about forever.
Ultimately, we want to start conversations that plant seeds for the gospel and use the research as a tool to get to know people we wouldn't normally meet, go out into the world, and for fellow believers to get to know the world they live in and around more so we know who and what to pray about.
The first survey topic is about if people believe they are loved, and will focus on the San Bernardino County in California with residents who are the age of 20 years and older.
Funding will go toward the DBA I need to file to use the name The Forever Findings and programs like Survey Monkey, Power BI, Microsoft 365, Website building and improving, a new laptop (to replace a 2012 laptop that does not support a lot of programs and my internet browsers), a camera for videos and images, an external hard drive, and of course labor time to get this done. It is just me and my husband, and though we will do this with or without funds because we know God is leading us to do this, it will be greatly appreciated to make sure we can spend the time working on the research as much as we can.
