I'm Khalilah, an author, performance artist of peace and educator in San Jose, CA. I am the creator of The Dance Of Peace, which is a performance art focused on spreading a vibration of harmony while educating people regarding peace, well being and better living. It works in part by fostering joy using these three tenets:
1) The Magic Power Of Music- This powerful force can heal, soothe and stimulate the human spirit in the blink of an eye.
2) The Medicine Of Movement- Creative movement and dance have been scientifically proven to uplift our mood and provide an improved sense of well-being.
3) The Power Of Play- Remembering & practicing laughter and play on a daily basis is a powerful medicine that keeps our brains youthful and active.
The Dance of Peace has been an active force uniting the community for over 12 years. This art form is now transforming into a business and needs your help to grow and reach a wider audience. This is important to me because it is my life's work and calling. It's important to the world at large because peace is not a subject taught in our schools. All of humanity has paid a hefty price for not prioritizing peace education.
That is why I am moving to operating as a full time artist and peace educator with your support.
Funds from this fundraiser will accomplish the following:
- Allowing the Dance of Peace, LLC to hire a small admin staff to document and support this vital work.
- Produce books and promotional materials that teach practical peace methods and further the experience of peace for individuals, organizations and educational institutions.
- Publish and distribute online courses to educate a global audience on peace making techniques for daily use
- Cover the expenses of ongoing, in-person performances and workshops teaching the local community how to create peace in their hearts and homes.
