Dear Friends of Megan, Matt, Henry and William Colling,
It is with profound sadness we inform you that Megan Dane Colling passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, at her home in New Orleans on April 12th.
The loss of Megan has left her dear community of friends heartbroken. Anyone who was lucky enough to have known Megan loved her; whether that be as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a colleague, or a friend.
Just before her passing, Megan and her husband Matt purchased a home in Treme. It was the culmination of a year-long effort to find the perfect home for their family, in a city they’ve grown to love. Matt and the boys will be moving in at the end of the month. However, their new home is in need of a great deal of renovation work before that move can take place.
As Matt, Henry and William proceed into this incredibly difficult time, without Megan, many of us are left asking, “How can we help?”
Matt has asked that people write a letter for the boys to read now, and in the future. Any memories about how you first met Megan, a good story or two, anything that shows your love would be appreciated. Maybe include a picture as well.
In addition, or alternatively, those closest to the family have created this Go Fund Me. Our goal with this fundraising effort is, not only to ensure that their new home is as comfortable as possible when they move in, but to provide Matt the opportunity to remain at home with Henry and William, for as long as possible, before having to return to work.
