Rex was placed into intensive care for a few days to monitor the bruising on his lungs. A few days later, he went into surgery for his leg. The vet placed a long metal rod and screws in Rex’s leg. Rex spent a week at the specialty vet. Through all of this, Rex was a real troooper! Believe it or not, all he wanted to do was jump up and give sloppy kisses. He’s so very, very sweet and just craves human attention.
Unfortunately, Rex had a turn for the worse. The day before he was going for his checkup, his foot splayed outward. X-rays showed the plate in rex’s leg had bent. Rex had to have another surgery to replace the plate and screws in his leg. (and this time rex would be placed in a paw-to-hip cast for five weeks.)
We hope that rex won’t need any further surgery. He will, however, need extensive therapy after the cast comes off to regain use of the leg.
Up to this point, rex’s medical bills are around $8,500, not including therapy. Please donate to The Buddy Foundatioin to help cover the cost of Rex’s care. We promise to keep you updated on his treatment and recovery!
