Molao Matters is reaching out with heavy hearts on behalf of a mother (“Mum”) who has endured an unimaginable ordeal.

For over one year and eight months, Mum has been separated from her two children—both under the age of three when they were forcefully and irregularly removed from Botswana. The younger of the two was still breastfeeding at the time of their removal.

Despite a Botswana Court Order declaring the removal unlawful and ordering the children’s return, they remain in another country—far from home, far from their mother, and without any contact with her. The psychological and emotional pain of this separation is indescribable.

Mum has tirelessly pursued justice. With the support of Molao Matters, she has secured pro-bono legal representation in the country where the children are located. This legal team is prepared to fight for her immediate access to the children and to pursue parallel legal processes that could fast-track their return home.

But she cannot do it alone.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

To continue this fight, Mum urgently needs to travel to the country where her children are being kept. Your contributions will cover:

• Travel expenses for Mum

• Basic living allowance (accommodation, local transport, food, and incidentals while abroad)

• Support for the pro-bono legal team’s travel and accommodation (the children are not in the capital city, requiring further travel within the country)

THE GOAL

We are appealing to the public to help raise P36,500.00 (Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Pula) which is $2, 740.00 (Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Forty USD) . The full amount of funds raised will go directly toward reuniting a mother with her children.
