Help Us Tour into Europe
Created by: Carl Charlesworth, Team Manager extraordinaire
Dear Rugby Enthusiasts, Parents, and Absolutely Anyone Who Loves a Good Laugh.
As the Team Manager for our beloved rugby club, I’m reaching out with an exhilarating, mildly dangerous proposal that might just bring tears to your eyes... and not just from laughter!
After we concord the North-East this season, we’ve set our sights on the spectacular landscapes of Europe for a rugby tour that promises to be packed with memories, adventure, and probably a few injuries (don’t worry, Tony will have the first aid kit handy). We’re aiming for the 26/27 (Under 14) or 27/28 (U15) season but there’s an awful lot to be ironed out before that's finalised.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting: If each of you lovely parents pledges what you can afford, I will take on the bungee jump kindly donated back by Ben Brindley! Yes, you heard it right! The man in the iconic grey vest will be leaping into the abyss, all in the name of rugby and a good laugh. Just imagine the sight of me, flailing like a majestic swan, as I plummet towards the ground. It will be a spectacle you won’t want to miss! I am petrified of heights. It's a classic win/win - you raise vital funds for the tour and I concord this fear. We need to raise as much as possible but the reserve price on me jumping is £1,250. Be a good sport and so will I.
Why Europe? Well, aside from the rich rugby culture, and breathtaking scenery, Europe is filled with delicious food, vibrant history, and possibly the best pastries (Not pasties - we're not touring Cornwall!) you can find - perfect for feeding our hungry athletes (and hungry me, because let’s be real) and fueling our parents who like a good (or bad) bottle of rouge.
A Little About Carl:
- I enjoy cozy bus trips where I can catch up on my essential napping. Don’t judge me, it’s a skill!
- I wear grey vests like a true champion. Fashion is important, folks!
- I may or may not have developed a unique technique for keeping warm on those chilly Sunday mornings or Thursday nights: it involves a bit of camaraderie and a lot of slapping ass (IYKYK).
Funding Goals:
Your generous donations will not only fund the trip but also help cover activities, food, and my therapy bills after the bungee jump (just kidding… mostly).
Join us in this adventure, and help me face my fear of heights while giving our club the experience of a lifetime! Share this page with friends, family, and anyone who might be willing to part with £50 in exchange for witnessing my imminent free-fall.
Let’s make this tour a reality!
With all my love (and a bit of fear),
Carl Charlesworth
Team Manager and Professional Grey Vest Enthusiast
