'The Discourses of Rumi' in Albanian by Ervin Lani

Arsyeja e kësaj fushate është për të kërkuar mbështetje financiare për botimin e librit ‘Kuvendimet e Mevlanës’ (Fīhi mā fīhi) te Mevlānā
Xhelāl ad-Dīn Rūmī-t (v. 1273), një prej mjeshtrave shpirtërorë të Islamit, njëkohësisht dijetar, urtar dhe poet. Reynold A. Nicholdon, studjuesi i mirënjohur anglez që përktheu Mesnevī-në, veprën monumentale të Rūmī-t, e quajti atë “poeti më i madh mistik i gjithë kohërave”, duke shtuar, “Ku tjetër mund të gjejmë një panoramë të tillë të ekzistencës universale që shpaloset nga Koha në Përjetësi?”  

Poezitë e tij, kryesisht nga Mesnevī-ja dhe Divān-i Shems, janë përkthyer e botuar në shumë gjuhë. Sidoqoftë, mua më terhoqi vëmendjen më shumë vepra Fīhi mā fīhi (Aty është çka është aty), titullin e së cilës e shqipërova si Kuvendimet e Mevlanës. Ajo është një përmbledhje e bisedave të Rūmī-t të shkruara nga studentët e tij. Gjithashtu, ndikoi në këtë përzgjedhje edhe përkthimi mjeshtëror i studjueses madhore të Sufizmit, Annemarie Schimmel në gjermanisht. Them “më tërhoqi vëmendjen më shumë” sepse, ndryshe nga veprat e tjera, Kuvendimet ka një qasje të drejtpërdrejtë në lidhje me anën praktike për kërkuesit shpirtërore, duke dhënë udhëzim të qartë si të njohim e më pas të shërojmë sëmundjet e shpirtrave tanë. Këshillat janë për studentët e ndjekësit e tij, por njëkohësisht ato janë universale. Edhe pas shtatë shekujsht ato ende janë fresktëta, sepse njerëzit në thelb nuk ndryshojnë. Ne akoma mbartim të njëjtat të meta, shqetësime dhe synime për këtë dhe atë botë. Për shumicën prej nesh, këto synime thjesht nuk janë të orientuara si duhet, dhe pikërisht këtu udhëzimet e Rūmī-t janë jetike.
Kam përkthyer dhe vazhdoj të përkthej edhe vepra të tjera, por kjo është ndryshe. Mund të them se nuk mund të filloja të punoja me këtë vepër pa vizituar më parë varrin dhe tyrben e Rūmī-t në Konia të Turqisë. Për veprat e tjera që kam përkthyer gjetja e fondeve nuk ka qenë e vështirë, gjë që tani për tani nuk mund ta them për këtë vepër. Ka gati një vit që dorëshkrimi është gati, por ende nuk kam gjetur mbështetjen e duhur financiare.

The reason for this fundraiser is to support the funding of the publication of Rūmī's Discourses (Fīhi mā fīhi) in the Albanian language for the first time. Mawlānā Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī (d. 1273) is considered one of the spiritual masters of Islam; a scholar, a sage, and a poet. Reynold A. Nicholdon, the great English scholar who translated the Masnavī (The Spiritual Couplets), the monumental work of Rūmī, into English, called him "the greatest mystical poet of all time". "Where else shall we find such a panorama of universal existence unrolling itself through Time into Eternity?", he added.

His poems - mostly from the Masnavī and the Diwān-i Shams - have been translated and published in many languages. However, it is his work Fīhi mā fīhi (In it is what is in it), a collection of Rūmī's conversation as recorded by his students, that got my special attention (the great scholar of Sufism, Annemarie Schimmel's masterly translation in German had also something to do with it). I said "special attention" because The Discourses has a direct practical aspect for spiritual seekers; it provides guidance in order to notice and then heal the ailments of our own souls. His advice and counsel was for his students, but it is also universal. It still speaks to us today, more than seven centuries later, because human beings, in essence, do not change. We still have the same faults, fears, and aspirations for this world and beyond. For most of us, they simply are not properly aligned, and that is where Rūmī's advice becomes vital.

I have translated other works before and I still do (see the list below), but this one is different. Let me just say that I could not start translating his work before I myself paid a visit to the tomb of Rūmī  in Konya, Turkey. It took me five years to complete the translation and the editing. While I have been able to secure funding for other works, unfortunately I cannot say the same for this one. The manuscript has been ready for months but I have been unable to find funds; not yet, at least. 

I am asking for $3,000 for the publication of the book.
