The Mark Shelley Memorial fund
Donation protected
Like many in the world today, this does not come easy for us. Thank you for stopping by, reading and caring. We understand that times are tough for all/any of us. If you can donate, we certainly can't thank you enough. If not, please pass it on and share.
Early March of this year(2020), Mark had a very intense and deep stroke on the right side of his brain. It has left him immobile and in a wheel chair, as well as needing use of a Hoyer lift and full body sling for moving him into bed and various other situations. His left side is paralyzed. He has gotten speech therapy helping him learn to speak properly again, as well his needing tracheotomy while in the hospital. He had been in rehab since June, then released to his home last Thursday 7/9, due to insurance coverage, which was far too early but we do what we have to right?
Mark and family live in quaint Lancaster County. They are truly hard workers. Mark had a self employed career and his wife had a 30 year career in occupational therapy for pediatric kids, both of which have had to stop. Mark of course permanently(as far as we know right now) and his wife, until they can afford to hire a private home care specialist needed so very badly. To be clear, right now, absolutely no income of any kind. They do not fit into any type of government help because it goes by past tax returns over the course of a year or two. They have sold personal items and dug into savings in order to get Mark to this point. Now, no matter how hard or painful it is, it's come time to ask for human kindness and caring of those who are able. For the understanding and compassion that is this human race. No amount is too small. Anything given by you will be greatly appreciated in no uncertain terms, as well as passing this on to others in hopes of much needed help and financial relief.
God Bless each and every one of you, no matter where/who you are!
