The Magic Puck Scholarship
Donation protected
I recently was connected to a single hockey mom for the The Magic Puck Scholarship who is starting over after years in an abusive relationship. Her breaking point came when her husband attempted to take his own life while the children were present. She had to make the hardest choice—and the bravest one—for her children.
She’s moving into a new home, rebuilding her life from scratch, and facing the emotional and financial weight of doing it all alone. Her children, a son and daughter, both play hockey—a sport that has been their outlet, their joy, their constant. But now, the cost of keeping them on the ice feels impossible.
She didn’t ask for help. Another hockey mom quietly reached out on her behalf because that’s what this community does—we lift each other up when someone can’t ask for it themselves.
If you’re reading this and feel moved to help in any way—through a donation, a share, or a connection to another hockey family who might want to support—please know it will go directly to making sure these kids don’t lose the one thing that’s helped keep them grounded during so much chaos.
I will be writing a check directly to the hockey club they play for and have already connected with the coach.
Thank you from the bottom of our hockey hearts for supporting this family and cause.
