Kyle’s Dream Can’t Wait — Help Him Live It!

Update 07-17-25
So — plot twist!
The Phoenix convention we had planned for got canceled last minute (I know, Ripley would’ve filed a strongly worded report with Weyland-Yutani).
BUT! We didn’t let that stop us.
We still made the trip — because crushing Kyle’s whole weekend felt way worse than a facehugger to the helmet. Instead, we took him to an incredible gun range decked out with lights, sound effects, and just enough sci-fi chaos to make it feel like LV-426.
The result? His spirits are higher than they’ve EVER been.
He left that range determined, fired up, and more motivated than ever to keep fighting and get to the next big event…
Colorado Festival of Horror (COFOH) — mid-September — where the Aliens cast will be reassembling.
We’re now focusing GoFundMe support toward making that next mission possible.
Every bit helps get Kyle there — to meet his heroes, make more amazing memories, and keep building hope (and probably more alien costumes, let’s be real).

Thank you all for helping make this journey possible. You’re not just donating — you’re part of Kyle’s squad.
Let’s bring this next chapter to life.
Stay frosty. And never trust a facehugger.

Help Kyle Live His “Aliens” Dream while he can!
Hi everyone,
My name is Jordan, and I’m writing to share something deeply personal—and to ask for your help giving my brother Kyle a dream adventure rooted in love, creativity, and the power of shared fandom.
Kyle is 34 years old and recently received devastating news: a diagnosis of stage 4 stomach cancer. The truth is, we don’t know how much time we have left together—but what we do know is that every moment counts. And Kyle has one big wish: to go on the ultimate “Aliens”-inspired road trip with me, his brother.
But here’s the thing: we became brothers because of Aliens.
Years ago, we bonded instantly over our shared love for the 1986 sci-fi classic. That movie didn’t just entertain us—it gave us common ground, a language, and ultimately, a brotherhood. Since then, Kyle and I have stood by each other through thick and thin. He’s not just family. He’s my family.
Kyle is a director, a master prop builder, a talented actor, and a self-proclaimed (and proud!) dork. He’s brought countless stories to life on stage and created magic from nothing with his hands and imagination. Now, as his world becomes more uncertain, he deserves to live a story of his own—a real-life adventure filled with the wonder and excitement he’s always given others.
The Plan: Kyle’s Aliens Adventure (07/11 - 07/15)
Kyle's Oncologist has stressed that time is of the essence, and that we should make as many of Kyle's dreams come true as possible, as soon as possible. In our hearts, we’re still hoping the doctors are wrong and that this won’t be a goodbye trip, but instead maybe a way of boosting Kyle's spirits while he fights against the odds and waits for his miracle. We're holding onto hope with everything we’ve got.
Here's what Kyle dreams of doing:
Attend an Sci Fi convention in Phoenix, Arizona, where he’ll meet actors from the film that brought us together and shaped so much of our bond.
Visit a specialty gun shop in Las Vegas, where he’ll see working replicas of the film’s iconic weaponry—something he’s dreamed about for years as a props enthusiast.
Travel up the West Coast, visiting iconic sights, filming locations, quirky roadside stops, and places he's always longed to see.
We’ll laugh. We’ll cry. We’ll quote Ripley. And we’ll make memories that cancer can’t touch.
How You Can Help!!
We're fundraising to cover travel, lodging, transportation, meals, and medical-related costs along the way. Every dollar will go directly toward helping Kyle have this experience while he's still well enough to enjoy it. If you can't donate, sharing this with others is just as meaningful.
Kyle has spent his life giving joy, wonder, and creativity to others. Now, I want to give some of that back to him—with your help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, supporting, and being a part of this journey with us. You’re helping give a brother his dream and honoring a life filled with imagination, love, and pure geeky joy.
Stay frosty,
Jordan
