➡️ Funding has been cut. We’re at risk of losing this life-saving student program. Please read on.
Lancers Recover is a student recovery program at the University of Windsor. It supports students who are rebuilding their lives after addiction—offering recovery meetings, peer support, sober social events, case management, and a welcoming campus lounge.
We are the first and only collegiate recovery program in Ontario, and one of the longest-running in Canada. Since 2020, the program has quietly changed—and in some cases, saved—students’ lives.
❌ But now, we’re at risk of losing it.❌
Despite its impact, institutional funding was not renewed for the 2025–26 academic year.
We have a new cohort of students—many in early recovery—who rely on this program. Without urgent help, we’ll lose our part-time coordinator, and with that, our ability to run meetings, support students one-on-one, and offer any kind of consistent programming.
✅ What We’re Raising:
We need to raise $10,000 to retain our part-time coordinator—a trained social worker who runs meetings, provides one-on-one support, and keeps the structure in place for students to stay connected and on track.
This is a bare-bones amount, but it will keep the program alive while we pursue new funding.
We’re fundraising separately for materials, events, and outreach through private donations. This GoFundMe is just to cover wages and preserve the heart of the program.
