Thank You for Lighting up Mobile

Sally was the first hurricane to make landfall in Alabama since Ivan in 2004. Countless trees were toppled, taking many power lines with them as the fell. Almost before the storm left the state, linemen from Alabama Power and its counterparts in other states were setting new poles, running new lines, and restoring power to the 680,000 customers left in the dark. We are deeply grateful for the speed and skill with which they worked.

Now, we would like to both thank them and invite them back to enjoy a city completely restored and ready for visitors. Local businesses will be offering discounts and special deals to those who return. To get the word out, a coalition of citizens, businesses, and elected officials in Mobile are planning a marketing campaign in the major cities these linemen call home.
