Bruno tore his ACL

Bruno is a four-year-old English Bulldog/Boxer who loves everyone and every dog that he meets. He is a sweet and incredibly happy boy that met his forever family in November of 2021. Before that, he had been used as a "bait dog" which is what dogfighters use to train their fighting dogs by encouraging them to attack the bait dog. They are subjected to repeated abuse and attacks as the fighting dogs learn to be aggressive toward them.

Bruno's adoption photos and videos portrayed the rough life he had endured, but he still looked so happy and energized. Even after everything he had been through his enthusiasm for life was unharmed. The bond between me and Bruno was instantaneous.

After his first vet visit it was apparent that he needed Entropic surgery. This was an expensive endeavor but he was in constant pain with aggetated, red, watery eyes. Flash forward to about three weeks ago when he started limping. A week later he began walking on three legs. An impressive maneuver, but a clear indication that something was very wrong. Various vets agree that he needs TPLO surgery. Essentially, he tore his ACL. He doesn't bark, he doesn't wince, and he doesn't let up when someone is willing to give him lovins. His threshold for pain is very high because of how he was brought up. That said, he is in pain.

Any dog parent wants to provide for their pet. Additionally, most people do not want to ask for help, specifically, financial assistance. This is undoubtedly the situation at hand but Bruno has been through so much brutality and pain already. Please help rally around Bruno so he can go back to running around, spreading his love and happiness like he was meant to do.

The surgery is going to cost over $5,000. The insurance he has will not kick in for this kind of claim for another 10 months (12 month requirement). Bruno and I will be relocating for two months so he can recover in an environment without stairs. There will likely be additional fees that come up such as post-op medication.
