Terry OBrien

My name is Shelly O'Brien. After a brief battle with lung cancer, my dear, loving husband Terry died early in June. As I come to grips with the grief, I am also learning about our, now my, finances. Suddenly I am faced with the added and somewhat surprising expenses of the funeral. I do not know what the current medical expenses will be but we are still making payments on previous medical expenses from a few years ago.

Terry and I live in a small condo in south Minneapolis. I have recently learned that the mortgage is 50% higher than I thought as well as the association dues. 

I have been on family leave for the last few months to care for Terry. As a result, I have fallen behind in cash flow. Also there will be period of time before I can transfer his social security and part of his pension over to me. This will make cash flow even more difficult. I know this is temporary and that I will be able to get to a better place. In the meantime, I could need as much as $5,000 to $8,000 to help me make the transition to a semblance of financial security.

Please consider helping me reach financial security during this difficult time. Every little bit of help goes a long way and one day I will be on the side of helping someone else. For now, I will be forever grateful for the love and support bestowed upon Terry and me.
