As most of you know a very close friend of mine found out last year that he had a brain tumor/cancer. He had surgery, went through chemo and radiation and went into remission. Sadly in March at a follow up MRI a new tumor was discovered. He had surgery to remove that one and began chemotherapy and radiation again. Because of the kind of cancer this is and how aggressive it is, sadly that tumor came back a month later along with two more tumors despite having radiation every day and being on chemo.
The two new tumors are on his cerebellum which affects motor function. He is trying to regain the ability to walk and control the lower half of his body. The new treatment plan is to now add in another chemotherapy.
Anyone who knows Joe knows what a strong, amazing, kind hearted person he is. The person who would do anything for anyone. The fact that this is happening to him is basically the worst thing in the world. It's sickening that something so terrible can happen to someone so amazing.
Now this is were the help from all of you comes in. A fundraiser was done last year which helped but a lot of things have come up that now Joe and his fiancé Emma need our help more then ever. They were going to get married this October, unfortunately the have to cancel the wedding because they need the money for his treatment. The wedding venue at this time has $15000 of their money that they are trying to get back so they can pay for new treatment and the venue is not working with them. The current treatment is not working and with more money Joe could go to other places to try other treatments. They could join trials to see if something else could work for him if they had the right funds. Given that Joe goes for radiation every day, the medical bills are out of control, disability won't kick in for 5 months, no one in any of these departments (insurance, SS, disability, the wedding venue) are helping them at all so it's up to us now.
These two together are the best people in the world and what they are going through is heart breaking. So I'm asking you, even if it's $5 please please donate and help them have the funds to go where they need to go and get the help and treatment that could save Joe's life.
