Support Jessica’s fight against cancer

In late September, Jessica Buchheister needed surgery to repair Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) in her arm, but during a routine pre-op test a mass was found in her chest. A biopsy of this mass was done during the surgical repair of her TOS.

On October 4, 2024, the pathology results were finalized and Jessica was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

This diagnosis was a complete shock to Jessica, her husband Alex Henthorn, and their family and friends. Pre-operatively, her surgeon was 99% sure the mass was benign, since she was asymptomatic. She did not experience any of the symptoms typically associated with Cancer. The surgeon planned to remove the mass during the TOS surgical repair. Unfortunately, this did not happen because the mass was extremely invasive and instead a biopsy was performed.

Prior to her diagnosis, Jessica was a healthy, young woman beginning the next phase of her life as she and Alex were just happily married on April 26, 2024. After only five months of marriage, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma turned their world upside down.

Jessica is an incredible wife, daughter, sister and friend. We want to provide her and her family with as much support as we can. She is a dedicated and hardworking educator who is always looking to help others. She has a love for exercise, travel, the beach and all that life has to offer.

Jessica’s treatment plan includes chemotherapy and immunotherapy and will be ongoing for several months. To date, Jessica had a major surgery, six CT scans, the first of many PET scans and countless additional procedures to overcome this aggressive Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Unfortunately, some of the procedures and interventions that Jessica underwent were not covered by insurance. With your generosity and support, all funds will offset the cost of her continued treatment, and expenses she already incurred.

The road ahead for Jessica is challenging but paired with your prayers and support, her Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma treatment and care will be successful and she will be cancer free!
