'Tragedy on the Hudson'
On the evening of July 26, 2013, Lindsey Stewart and Mark Lennon were killed when the recreational speedboat in which they were traveling collided with a poorly lit construction barge anchored in the Hudson River. Lindsey and Mark were ejected from the boat. Their bodies were recovered in the following days. Four others were badly injured in the accident, including Lindsey’s fiancé, Brian.
The accident became headline news across the country, with the media reporting that Lindsey and Mark were killed just two weeks before Lindsey was to have been married with Mark serving as her groom’s best man.
Lindsey and Mark's foundation has been set up in the hopes of raising enough funds to erect a memorial in their memory - a lighthouse on the shore of the Hudson River that will shine as a beacon to boaters. No donation is too small, we thank and appreciate everyone who supports us and helps to make this lighthouse a reality!
